Getting "Good" Data by Painting

  1. Start with the DNA profile plot generated in Step 3 of Tutorial 4:



  2. Note that this DNA profile plot is already in the paint mode.

  3. Paint the "good" cells red:



  4. To access the red cells, put the above DNA profile plot in the subset mode first:



  5. Click the left mouse button over the plotting area to pop up a color selection dialog; select the red color:



  6. After the OK button is clicked, all the red cells will be extracted out of the DNA profile plot and put in the temporary console:



  7. Follow steps outlined in this tutorial to get the following plate view of DNA profiles:



    Recall that columns 1, 2, & 3 were control, columns 4, 5, & 6 were treated by taxol, columns 7, 8, & 9 were treated by nocodazole, and columns 10, 11, & 12 were treated by etoposide. As a comparison, here is a plate view of DNA profiles with outliers included.
